Samsung Starts Mass Production of DDR2 DRAM

Samsung announced it has started mass production of DDR2 (Double Data Rate) DRAM (Dynamic Random Access Memory) memory chips, according to a March 24, 2011 report by the Samsung Hub. The 30nm-based 4Gb DDR2 DRAM was first unveiled in December 2010. It is reported that Samsung's DDR2 DRAM chip will consume less power and help manufacturers to develop slimmer and lighter mobile devices, such as Smartphones and tablet PCs, with longer better life. The new chip can transmit data at a speed of 1,066Mbps, according to the same source.
